Where are we, and how did you end up here?

We're at our country house just outside Tierp, in a small village called Åkerby. For the past two years we've been searching for a country house, spontaneously went to a viewing here, made a bid and won.

Describe yourselves in one sentence!

Playful, spontaneous and restless.

What do you love most about your home?

The details in the house, such as the open fireplace, the teak louvre door, the staircase — but above all the light, the view and the garden.

How did you approach the colour scheme for your home?

When we took over the house, virtually everything was white — for us that quickly feels very cold and not quite the feeling we were after. When choosing the colours, we thought about warmth, contrast and a sense of harmony between them.

Which colours have you chosen, and what made you fall for them?

The colours we've chosen are 150 — Buttercup, 145 — Pompeii, 143 — Cashmere, 139 — Tundra and 67 — Rioja for the woodwork. We were looking for soft colours that lift the rooms and give them character and different kinds of energy. For example, the yellow in the living room — 150 — Buttercup for a cosy and relaxed feel, and blue in the dining room — 139 — Tundra for energy and freshness.

What are you most pleased with?

The woodwork and staircase in 67 — Rioja. It really elevated the space and looks beautiful alongside all the Klint colours we've chosen.

Describe your interior style in three words.

Playful, eclectic and creative.

Any tips for someone who wants to repaint?

Order at least 3 sample sheets from Klint to test at home. For us, it's all about the feeling a colour gives — should it feel warm? Cool? Also dare to let the woodwork take centre stage. Paint a window frame in a cool colour and let the walls take a back seat if painting an entire room feels like too much. Last but not least — it doesn't have to be perfect. We're not professional painters and we have a young child, so a few splashes here and there are to be expected. It can always be fixed afterwards, trust us.

And last but not least — if you had to choose just one favourite colour from Klint's palette, what would it be?

143 — Cashmere. If anyone says the perfect beige doesn't exist, look again. It feels like a warm hug and looks incredible alongside the woodwork colour 67 — Rioja.
