Klint Homes
Where are we and how did you end up here, of all places?
We're on Ringvägen in Södermalm, Stockholm, in my first-hand apartment, which I recently exchanged for another one in Kungsholmen. Now, it truly feels like I’ve landed in the right place.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I am someone who thrives best when I have several projects going on - preferably completely different, but always something creative or social.
What do you like most about your home?
That the colours, furniture and details are cohesive and create a calm feeling. The bedroom is my favorite place - everything falls into place there.
What were you thinking when you chose the color scheme?
I wanted colour, but not so that it felt colourful. More like the colours should enhance the decor and create a clear context - not compete with it.
Which colors did you choose - and why?
In the living room, the walls are painted in 82 — Limón, a bright and fresh yellow with red undertones, while the ceiling, door and frame are painted in 1 — Julia, a warm, golden shade.
The bedroom is painted in 139 — Tundra, a crisp light blue color that creates a calm and cool impression.
The kitchen features 150 — Buttercup on the doors, a soft, buttery yellow that catches the sun's rays, and the walls are painted in 34 — Antique. Antique was also used on the wooden sections built into the kitchen walls. The ceiling is painted in 27 — Oatmilk.
The hallway, inner hallway and service corridor have 143 — Cashmere on the walls, a light beige with red pigment that gives warmth even in darker rooms. The hatches in the serving aisle are painted in the same sunny 150 — Buttercup as the kitchen. The ceiling here is also painted in 27 — Oatmilk.
All trims and white doors throughout the home are painted in 27 — Oatmilk.
I was struck by how the tones complement each other and give each room its own feeling, while at the same time making the whole clear.
What are you most pleased with?
That the colours enhance the furniture and create a home that feels both personal and thoughtful.
How would you describe your interior design style in three words?
Clear, harmonious, thoughtful.
Your best tip for anyone thinking about repainting?
Dare to bring in colour - it doesn't have to be wild or excessive. A well-thought-out colour can change an entire room without feeling too much.
If you could only choose one favorite colour from Klint's palette, which one would it be?
82 — Limon. It's warm, happy and changes so nicely depending on the light.
