The mission was "no more white walls" when Sofie Amalie Rolandsen started her Instagram account, thusthefuss, several years ago to share her and her boyfriend's very first home renovation. Three homes later, her appetite for colours has only grown increasingly.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Sofie, and I live with my boyfriend and two small kids in a large apartment from 1942. Interior design has always been a huge passion of mine, and I feel fortunate that it has now also become my livelihood, as I currently work as an interior stylist and content creator. I’m always on the lookout for new colourful inspiration and second hand finds.

Where are we, and how did you end up here of all places?

Frederiksberg - a municipality of its own in the middle of Copenhagen. We moved here by chance, when we found a listing on a second hand site, after having bid and lost no less than 17 apartments. It is a co-op and initially we lived in a smaller flat in the building, but when we got the chance to buy and renovate this place, we had no doubts. This apartment will always mean something special to us, as we have literally redone every inch of it.

Which colours have you chosen and what made you stick with them?

59 Parfait for the walls and 67 Rioja for trim and woodwork. I’m not afraid of using colours in our home, but have so far steered clear of the warmer hues. But I see it looking so damn pretty in many other homes, so I wanted to challenge myself and give the peachy Parfait a go and I love it! Matching it with a darker red shade was an easy choice, and I really like how the Rioja grounds the wall colour.

What was it like for you to repaint in your diningroom?

Choosing the shade was the hardest part. So many pretty shades to choose from, but having the little colour sample made it easier to find the perfect one to match our interior.

Painting was a nice and smooth process. The pouch packaging is just brilliant, and the masking tape from Klint is seriously awesome. Highly recommend it! Also, a huge plus is that the paint has a Nordic Ecolabel and EU Ecolabel and is odor free.

What do you like the most about your home?

The dining room, living room and kitchen flows into one big L. Each room has a personality of its own (decor-wise), but all connected through wide doors. This is where we live, eat, play and party.

Describe your decorating style in three words!

Colourful, cheerful, graceful

Do you have any tips for anyone who wants to repaint?

Always paint all walls of the room. I don’t believe in painting just one accent wall, unless there is a really good architectural reason, like a feature or functionality that you want to highlight. Painting all four walls of a room gives a much cleaner and elegant look, and really lets you colour choice come into its own.

Last but not least, which are your three favorite colours from Klint's colour palette?

Uh, that is a tough one, so many good ones. 59 Parfait and 67 Rioja obviously, and then I’m still thinking about 114 Aloha.
