Painting walls

1. Preparation

  • Protect floors and furniture against spills with protective plastic.

  • Wipe the walls down with soap and water if they’re noticeably dirty. You can often just paint straight away.

  • Spackle and sand any holes or uneven areas until the wall surface is smooth

(Klint spackling paste is coming soon!)

  • Cover door trim and other surfaces to be protected with masking tape.

2. Painting

  • Edge wall areas near floors or corners with a Medium Roller.

  • Edge the part of the wall that adjoins the ceiling with a Large Paint brush so you can get closer without getting paint on the ceiling.

  • Soak the Large Roller in paint in the deep end of the tray and roll it a few times in the shallow end to distribute the paint evenly. The roller should be soaked in paint without dripping.

  • Run the roller over the edged surface.

  • Continue applying the same method to the rest of the wall.

  • Let the paint dry for 4 hrs, then paint a second layer the same way. Place plastic bags over the roller, tray and brush while the paint is drying so they can be used again.

Edging, what is that?

Edging is what we call it when you carefully paint “the outer edges” of a wall before painting the rest of the wall with a roller. You typically edge with a mid-sized roller or paint brush so you can get closer.

Finished painting?

Sweet! Once you’ve finished applying the second coat, carefully remove the painter’s tape while the paint’s still wet so that the tape loosens easily.

Start your colour journey

with our swatches.

Our swatch kits contain all colours within a certain colour family, to make it easy to find the right colour. The swatches are 22x22 cm, hand-painted with the same paint you can order, and removable so you can try different colours without having to paint on the wall.

Peel off the protection on the back, put up the swatch on the wall, and move it around as you want to get a feel of the colour in different environments and light.

Pigments, binders, preservatives and water. The paint is eco-labeled with the Swan label and the EU Flower.

Good question! Liquid paint residue must be dropped off at a recycling centre or environmental waste facility On the other hand, if you completely empty a Klint paint pack, you can simply toss it into a recycling bin. Ask your municipality for the location of the nearest recycling centre or environmental waste facility.
