Guides
Painting the ceiling at home is not just a process to change the colour of a surface; it's a transformation of the overall feel of the room. When we choose a new shade for the ceiling, we play with the atmosphere of the room. Bright colours, like pastels or neutral tones, can elevate a room's feel, giving it an illusion of higher ceilings and more space. On the other hand, bold, dark colours can give the ceiling weight and create an intimate, cozy atmosphere, especially in larger spaces.
But beyond the ceiling's surface, the colour has the power to affect our mood. A soothing blue above us can give a sense of calm and peace, while a lively yellow can infuse a sense of energy and optimism.
The psychological effect of colour on the ceiling can influence how we experience our spaces. A workspace with a ceiling in soothing green can become a place for focus, while a children's room with bright tones can inspire play and imagination.
Colour choices for the ceiling can also be an extension of the home's overall style. Earthy tones can complement a traditional interior, while a monochromatic palette can provide a modern, minimalist feel. So, when choosing a colour for the ceiling, think about how the shade will affect the entire space. A thoughtful choice can transform and elevate your entire interior.
Preparations:
Before you start painting the ceiling, make sure to move or cover furniture and floors to protect them from paint splatters. Wash the ceiling with a mild soap solution to remove any dirt or dust. If there are irregularities or cracks in the ceiling, fill them with filler and then sand the surface until it is smooth. To protect lamps, ceiling fans, or other installations, use masking tape.
Choose the right tools:
When it comes to painting the ceiling, the choice of the right tool is crucial. A narrow brush may be best for the edges near the wall, while a roller is ideal for larger areas of the ceiling.
Primer:
If you are painting over a dark colour with a lighter shade, or if the ceiling is uneven, start with a primer. This provides a smooth base and can help the final paint adhere better.
Painting:
When you start painting the ceiling, start with the edges near the wall using the brush. After that, use the roller for the larger areas, and remember to paint with even pressure to avoid drips. Let the first coat dry completely, which may vary depending on the type of paint, before considering applying a second coat.
Leave the bag in the packaging recycling:
Our paint comes in a resealable bag that is easy to use and pour. When the bag is empty, it can be placed directly in the packaging recycling.
Conclusion:
When everything is finished and the paint has dried, carefully remove the masking tape. Make sure to restore the room by moving the furniture back and removing any protective materials from the floor.
Well done!
