Paint at home, one room at a time

Get inspiration for rooms such as the kitchen, bedroom, and living room

Repainting can transform your home in a way few other changes can. With the right colour choice, you can create an atmosphere that reflects your personality, your needs, and your dreams. Let us inspire you with some of the most popular rooms to renew with colour.

Repainting

Repainting at home is not just a process of changing a wall's color; it's a transformation of the room's soul and atmosphere. When we choose a new shade, we play with optical illusions. Bright colors, like pastels or neutral tones, open up a small room, giving it a sense of space and airiness. On the other hand, bold, dark colors can pull in the walls and create an intimate, cozy feel, especially in large spaces.

But beyond the room's dimensions, the color has the power to affect our mood. A calming blue can envelop us in a sense of relaxation, while a lively yellow can fill the room with energy and joy.

The psychological effect of colour extends to the function of our spaces. A workspace in a soothing green can become a haven for concentration, while a children's room in bright tones can be a place for play and creativity.

Colour choices can also be an extension of the home's character. Earthy tones can highlight rustic decor, while a monochromatic palette can give a streamlined, modern feel. So, when choosing colour, think about how the shade will affect both the object and the entire space. A thoughtful choice can transform and elevate your entire interior.

Step by step: Repainting at home

  • Preparations:

Before you start painting, it is important to prepare the surface properly. This may involve removing or covering objects and cleaning the surface with a mild soap solution to remove any dirt or grease. If there are uneven areas, holes, or cracks, fill them with spackle and sand the surface until it is smooth. To protect adjacent surfaces you don't want to get paint on, use masking tape.

  • Choosing the right tools:

When it comes to tools, choosing the right brush and roller is crucial. A narrow brush is best for edges and corners, while a roller is ideal for larger surfaces.

  • Primer:

If you are painting over a dark colour with a lighter shade, or if the wall is uneven, start with a primer. This provides a smooth base and can help the final paint adhere better.

  • Painting:

When you start painting, begin around the edges with the brush. After that, use the roller for the larger areas, and remember to apply with even pressure to avoid drips. Let the first coat dry completely before considering applying a second coat. Drying time can vary depending on the paint type.

  • Recycling:

Our paint comes in a resealable bag that is easy to use and pour from. When the bag is empty, it can be placed directly in the packaging recycling.

  • Finished:

When everything is done and the paint has dried, carefully remove the masking tape and restore the room by moving the furniture back.

    Well done!

Good question! Liquid paint residue must be dropped off at a recycling centre or environmental waste facility On the other hand, if you completely empty a Klint paint pack, you can simply toss it into a recycling bin. Ask your municipality for the location of the nearest recycling centre or environmental waste facility.
