Where are we and how did you end up here?

We are in my new two-bedroom apartment in Hornstull, where I recently moved in. Honestly, I ended up here because I chose to defy the prevailing market conditions and bought an apartment during the worst dip, when many others hesitated. It turned out to be the right decision, and now I get to live here.

What do you like most about the home?

The light! The three sets of windows in a row fill the whole apartment with light — truly to die for.

"I used my favorite furniture as a starting point and created a palette of green, wine red, blue, cream, and grey that feels both calm and vibrant at the same time."

How did you approach the colour scheme of your home?

After a cornflower blue extravaganza in my previous apartment, I was looking forward to more harmony in this one. But being harmonious doesn't have to mean boring! I used my favorite furniture as a starting point and created a palette of green, wine red, blue, cream, and grey that feels both calm and vibrant at the same time.

What colours have you chosen, and what made you choose them?

In the kitchen, living room, and hall, I've selected a delicious (haha) combination of 51 - Biscotti, 86 - Earl Grey, and 67 - Rioja. Isn't it fun that the colours have culinary names? Even though I didn't choose them deliberately for the names, they perfectly reflect my tendency to be drawn to decor I "want to eat up." For the bedroom, I opted for a soothing green shade called 20 - Autumn Leaves.

What were you most pleased with?

My wine-red baseboards! Everyone who visits reacts to them. Whether they love or hate them, I find it quite amusing.

Describe your interior style in three words!

Space-age, material mix, and (unfortunately, hehe) expensive.

Do you have any tips for someone looking to paint their home?

Don't overthink it ;) Just try it. If it doesn't feel right, paint over it.
